Tennessee Williams Tossed Out Ten Plays

January 13, 2015

NOTICE TO ALL ASPIRING NOVELISTS (and PLAYWRIGHTS): Tennessee Williams wrote numerous one-acters and TEN full-length plays by the time he wrote his greatest success, “”Streetcar Named Desire”. The early plays made no impression and were discarded by the author. But his one-acters held the themes of his later works and drew attention. This testifies to his energetic pursuit of a writer’s career. And yours. And mine. Happy New Year.
